Danby Portable Dishwasher DDW1899WP

Danby 8-Place Setting Portable Dishwasher

Model DDW1899WP

Do you live in a small apartment, condo, or home? Hate washing all those dishes by hand? This may be the answer. My Wife and I recently bought our first home, its an older home and had no dishwasher, it is also a small home and there really was no place to have a dishwasher installed as all the cabinets were filled with all our dishes and cooking items. We didn't want to lose any of our little storage we had, and the amount of dirty dishes we created would add up quickly if we didn't wash them daily at a minimum. So we did some research on other options.

What we came upon was the Danby 8-Place Setting Portable Dishwasher. There wasn't a lot of information out there about it, but we liked that it was on wheels and could be rolled away. Also all you did was hook it up to your sink in the kitchen and let it run. When it was done we would roll it into our laundry room out of the way. So we decided to purchase it online and had it shipped to a local Walmart to pick it up. It requires at least 2 people to move the box it comes in as it weights over 100lbs, but once it is set up, it can easily be moved around on hard floors.

As a warning there aren't much in the way of instructions that come with the dishwasher, this is a downside. Mostly the instructions comprise of how to use it, and nothing about how to set it up and what do do with the things that come with it. At the bottom of the page I will add some instructions with pictures that will help with setting up the dishwasher.

My Wife and I have been very pleased with the dishwasher, if you rinse the dishes decently, get the harder stuff of them, the will be very clean. If you are in a hurry like I am about doing housework, your dishes can come out a little spotty and your wife will know! But for what it is, a portable dishwasher it is very nice, and the price is pretty reasonable in my opinion. We use it regularly, obviously not everything can go in it as it is small and not everything is dishwasher safe.

If there is something you want me to try, make a suggestion in the comments and I will take it into consideration.

This is the adapter the comes with the dishwasher so you can hook it up to your faucet. And below that the hoses from the dishwasher connected to the faucet.

Here is the dishwasher placed next to our back door that we rarely use, so it is out of the way.

Not a huge amount of space in there but you can get plenty in there.

This funnel that comes with the dishwasher is so that you can put the salt water softener into the dishwasher after removing the cap underneath it pictured here.

Now to turn it on you first press the button on the left. Then after turning the dial to the desired setting you press the button next to the dial on the right. It will wash for about 2 hours then beep that it is done. You just press the power button on the left again. And now you are done!
