Danby Portable Dishwasher DDW1899WP

Danby 8-Place Setting Portable Dishwasher

Model DDW1899WP

Do you live in a small apartment, condo, or home? Hate washing all those dishes by hand? This may be the answer. My Wife and I recently bought our first home, its an older home and had no dishwasher, it is also a small home and there really was no place to have a dishwasher installed as all the cabinets were filled with all our dishes and cooking items. We didn't want to lose any of our little storage we had, and the amount of dirty dishes we created would add up quickly if we didn't wash them daily at a minimum. So we did some research on other options.

What we came upon was the Danby 8-Place Setting Portable Dishwasher. There wasn't a lot of information out there about it, but we liked that it was on wheels and could be rolled away. Also all you did was hook it up to your sink in the kitchen and let it run. When it was done we would roll it into our laundry room out of the way. So we decided to purchase it online and had it shipped to a local Walmart to pick it up. It requires at least 2 people to move the box it comes in as it weights over 100lbs, but once it is set up, it can easily be moved around on hard floors.

As a warning there aren't much in the way of instructions that come with the dishwasher, this is a downside. Mostly the instructions comprise of how to use it, and nothing about how to set it up and what do do with the things that come with it. At the bottom of the page I will add some instructions with pictures that will help with setting up the dishwasher.

My Wife and I have been very pleased with the dishwasher, if you rinse the dishes decently, get the harder stuff of them, the will be very clean. If you are in a hurry like I am about doing housework, your dishes can come out a little spotty and your wife will know! But for what it is, a portable dishwasher it is very nice, and the price is pretty reasonable in my opinion. We use it regularly, obviously not everything can go in it as it is small and not everything is dishwasher safe.

If there is something you want me to try, make a suggestion in the comments and I will take it into consideration.

This is the adapter the comes with the dishwasher so you can hook it up to your faucet. And below that the hoses from the dishwasher connected to the faucet.

Here is the dishwasher placed next to our back door that we rarely use, so it is out of the way.

Not a huge amount of space in there but you can get plenty in there.

This funnel that comes with the dishwasher is so that you can put the salt water softener into the dishwasher after removing the cap underneath it pictured here.

Now to turn it on you first press the button on the left. Then after turning the dial to the desired setting you press the button next to the dial on the right. It will wash for about 2 hours then beep that it is done. You just press the power button on the left again. And now you are done!

WonderGel Seat Cushions

WonderGel Seat Cushions

So are WonderGel Seat Cushions really that worth the cost? Well it depends. The cost is high, but things that work best come at a cost. So back to the question are they worth the cost?

Well, if you sit for any length of time anywhere, eventually the pressure starts to hurt your backside and lower back. If you are overweight such as myself this is especially true after a short period of time on some chairs. The WonderGel Cushions come with a carrying handle sewn into the cover so you can take it with you to places such as Sporting events, Theaters, Car Trips, etc. The uses are endless.

On a Comfort Level, they come in different sizes so you can pick how thick of a cushion best suites your situation. Personally I have found the Extreme Cushion to be the most comfortable, it is 2" thick and is not too heavy. The Gel used in the cushions is heavier than foam, the Extreme is about 6 pounds. The cushions use a grid type arrangement with air between all the rows of gel, that collapses in on itself when weight is applied, but it distributes the load evenly creating no pressure points. It takes several hours of use to get used to the way it feels, but it is very comfortable.

Now there are a few different options, you have the Roll-N-Go, Original, Extreme, and DoubleGel. I have used all of them and find the Extreme to be my favorite of all the choices. I think it gives the right amount of cushioning in most situations I have been in. The DoubleGel has the advantage of being 2.5" thick and having a soft and a firm side. The Roll-N-Go is a nice smaller cushion that is very portable but does not come with a cover so it doesn't look as nice, but its light weight would be good for traveling or short durations sitting. I enjoyed the Original but the Extreme was the clear choice for me.

In Closing, I do feel that if you have a job that requires sitting for long periods of time, that a WonderGel Seat Cushion is something to consider. They are very popular with Truck drivers and Office workers.
